Threats and violence are criminal offences and can take a heavy toll on your physical and mental health. Victim support services can advise you on your rights and help you find possible solutions. If you are in immediate danger, call the police emergency number 117. The police can stop the violence.
No. You can still seek advice and support even if you do not wish to report the incident. We will explain your rights to you and discuss with you at your leisure whether you wish to report the incident or not. If you do, we can support you throughout the criminal proceedings.
Yes. Under Article 175 of the Swiss Civil Code, you are entitled to leave the marital home without prior notice if you feel your safety is at risk. This will not put you at a disadvantage in any subsequent legal proceedings for separation or divorce.
Yes. You have the right and the duty to keep your children safe if their safety and security cannot be guaranteed at home. We advise you to take the children with you.
Yes. A lack of funds is no reason not to go. We will work with you to find solutions.
