When there is violence in the family, children and young people are always affected. That's why it's particularly important to us that children and young people are taken into account with their fears and worries during their stay at the women's shelter. We explain to them why they are in the women's shelter. A specialist listens to them and gives them the opportunity to talk about the violence they have experienced and their needs. If necessary, psychological help is organized for the children.
A stay in a women's shelter is a life-changing experience for children and young people. That's why it's so important for us to make their stay as pleasant as possible and give them positive experiences. The educators play with them, undertake leisure activities with them or help them with their homework. For children attending school, we contact the school and organize homework. We also offer our help as an intermediary with the school and teachers.
